Board Members




James Wynne

President (2022-2024)


JamesWynne, CPO, FAAOP is the current SOSORT President and has been a member since 2007.  He joined the board in 2017 and has served on the Scientific and Educational committees. Jim is a certified orthotist/prosthetist and has specialized in pediatricsand scoliosis since 1993. He lectures internationally on the non-operative management of scoliosis and has authored several book chapters and peer-reviewed articles on the non-operative treatment of scoliosis. His interest in SOSORT is to promote evidence-based non-operative programs for people with scoliosis and other spinal disorders.

Angelo Aulisa

Past - President (2022-2024)


Angelo Gabriele Aulisa, MD, has been a member of SOSORT since 2007, currently serving as Past President. He has been a Board member 2015-2022 and served as member at large, treasurer and scientific committee chair. He is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon with a specialty in spinal diseases and biomechanics based in Rome, Italy. He authored book chapters and several peer-reviewed papers on scoliosis focused on the conservative treatment. Dr. Aulisa’s professional goal is to reduce the rate of spinal fusion surgery in the adolescent scoliosis population by improving the effectiveness of brace wear.

Sabrina Donzelli

President Elect (2022-2024)


Sabrina Donzelli, MD, has been an active member of SOSORT since 2011 and in 2024 will become the first woman President of our society. She has provided conservative treatment for scoliosis patients in Italy since 2010 Sabrina was a co-coordinator of the first international online course for scoliosis treatment, serves as Teaching assistant at Harvard’s Principles and Practice of Clinical Research certificate course, and took a Msc in medical Statistics at Oxford University . She has authored book chapters and various publications in the field of scoliosis. 







Sunčica Bulat Würsching

President Elect 2 (2022-2024)


Dr Sunčica Bulat Würsching, MD, has been working with patients with scoliosis since 2002 and has been part of SOSORT since 2016. In 2018 she chaired the organization committee for the SOSORT meeting in Dubrovnik That same year she won the SOSORT award for the article "Parental role in scoliosis treatment". She served on the SOSORT Board as member at large since 2018, as treasurer between 2019 and 2021, and as of 2022 holds the role of President Elect 2. Her interests in SOSORT include strengthening the Society, strategic planning and event organization on behalf of SOSORT.




Sanja Schreiber

Secretary

Dr. Sanja Schreiber, the current SOSORT Secretary and Advisory to Education Committee, has been a SOSORT member since 2011, Consensus committee member (2015/2016), and Co-Chair of the Education Committee (2015-2023). She has authored four SOSORT award publications and co-authored the 2016 SOSORT Guidelines. Dr. Schreiber aims to raise scoliosis awareness through SOSORT education and strengthen collaborative initiatives among practitioners."


Larry Cohen

Treasurer


Dr. Larry Cohen, PhD is a physiotherapist and has been a member of SOSORT since 2011 and is serving as our treasurer. He has a MSc in exercise Physiology, completed Harvard’s Principles and Practice of Clinical Research certificate course, and holds a PhD focusing much of his work on spinal sagittal balance. He has been a volunteer gymnastics coach and been a physiotherapist for the Special Olympics and Olympics. He owns a private physical therapy practice in Australia. My interest is in treating and understanding scoliosis in order to minimize its long-term impact on patients as they age into adulthood and later stages of life, with a specific focus on quality of life







Lori Dolan

Member at Large


Dr. Lori Ann Dolan, PhD has been a member of SOSORT since 2007, a Board member since 2017, and served as the scientific committee chair in 2018 and 2019. She has been involved in pediatric orthopedic research at the University of Iowa since 1990 and co-lead the BrAIST project. Dr. Dolan’s goal is to increase high-quality collaborative research among SOSORT members. 



Dariusz Czaprowski

Member at Large


Dariusz Czaprowski, PT, PhD, has been a member of SOSORT since 2011, board member as member-at large since 2022, and served on the scientific committee for several years. He was a co-author of the SOSORT Guidelines in 2016 and received the SOSORT 2011 Award for best paper. Dariusz holds associate professorships at Warmia and Mazury University in Olsztyn, Poland as well as owning a private physical therapy clinic. His interests include improving screening methods for scoliosis, joint hypermobility, specific physiotherapy and the influence of scoliosis on physical capacity and aesthestics.


Elisabetta D’Agata

Member at Large


Dr Elisabetta D‘Agata is a PhD clinical psychologist, researcher, specialist in the area of idiopathic scoliosis. She has been involved with SOSORT and the scientific committee since 2010 and is serving as Member at large since 2022. Dr. D’Agata has published several research papers and has been a reviewer of many scientific journals. Her research interests are related to the application of the bio-psycho-social model in the treatment of the patients with scoliosis. She has instructed many international courses and programs surrounding the role of mental health of the adolescent with scoliosis . She believes in the importance of giving an emotional support to the adolescent and adult patients with scoliosis.




Judith Sanchez Raya

Member at Large


Dr. Judith Sanchez Raya is a rehabilitation medical doctor who is also a trained physiotherapist. She has been a member of SOSORT since 2010, and joined the board as member at large in 2022. She also serves on multiple medical boards, is a professor in a physiotherapy program in Spain, and holds 2 masters degrees in research. She completed Harvard’s Principles and Practice of Clinical Research certificate course, actively leads/teaches national courses, and is a reviewer for multiple medical journals. She hopes to promote spanish health care professionals to become better evidence based practitioners in the non-operative treatment of scoliosis.
